Joan Loraine Treybig Starnes, 50, of Bay City passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2007 in Houston. She was born March 30, 1957 in El Campo to Elaine Carson Treybig and Ernest Harold Treybig. Mrs. Starnes has been a longtime resident of Bay City, and was a Project Controls Manager with Stone & Webster Co.

She is survived by husband: Richard Starnes of Bay City; mother: Elaine Treybig of Matagorda; daughter: Leslie Simmons & husband Vince of Tivoli; sister: Lydia Catherine Sterling of Mount Ida, AR; 2 brothers: Ernest H. Treybig, Jr. of Matagorda and Carson Treybig of Austin; 3 granddaughters: Megan, McKenzi and Morgan Simmons of Tivoli; 16 nieces and nephews; 21 great nieces and great nephews; Preceded in death by her father: Ernest Harold Treybig; 2 sisters: Susan Nell Rawlings and Sally Dorene Aaron; brother-in-law: Brian E. Simons; and nephew: Bryan Gregory Simons.

The Family will receive visitors from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday. The Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Abundant Life Fellowship Church with Rev. Earl Breazeale officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers will be: John Rawlings Jr., Steven Rawlings, Trey Treybig, Tyler Treybig, Christopher Wilson, David Sterling Jr., Richard Hogan, and Michael Reed.
