Jimmy Lee Plunkett, 63, of Ashwood, passed away August 22, 2017. He was born February 9, 1954 in Wharton, Texas to the late Eddie Alice Plunkett, Sr. and Alma Lee James Plunkett. Jimmy was a long-time employee of Mike Stone Grass Farms. Jimmy enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing dominoes and being with friends and family. Always the first to laugh at a good joke or genuine sarcasm, he will be sorely missed by those who loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Shelia Jean Plunkett, and one brother Eddie Alice Plunkett, Jr.

Survivors include his brother James Walter Plunkett, sister-in-law, Cindy Pardue, sister-in-law, Arlane Sanders and husband Wayne, sister in law Peggy Bryant and a host of nieces and nephews including Frank Boultinghouse, Jr., Eric Wayne Sanders, James Holland Sanders, Derick James Bryant, Evelynn Hazel McGowan, Stephanie Renee Fojtik, Amy Kay Teeler, Katy Anne Plunkett, Jory Drew Plunkett, Stacey Ellen LaBauve, Megan Christine Plunkett, Lacey Sparks and Trent Blaylock.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5PM-7PM Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral service has been cancelled do to Hurricane Harvey. Private interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Roe, Danny Broadwater, Doug Ryman, Eric Sanders, Sherman Teeler, James Sanders, Trent Blaylock.

The family also wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to Larry Roe for caring for J.P. in his final weeks. J.P. loved having you there with him and we are so grateful to you for being there for him. He loved you and so do we.
