Jimmy Davis, 64, of Van Vleck, TX, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2009 in Bay City. He was born December 20, 1944 in Dallas, TX to Roland Johnson Davis and Lois Mae Meeks Davis. He was a lifelong resident of Matagorda County and was employed as an Operator for Matagorda County Drainage Dist. # 1.

He is survived by his wife: Donna Davis of Van Vleck; by his daughters: Susan Elaine Chavarria of Dickinson, Lori Ann Meyerdirk & husband Will of Van Vleck and Jonna Michele Davis of Van Vleck; his son: Jimmy Roe Davis of Van Vleck; his sisters: Janice Greenway & husband John of Midfield and Joy Dee Losak & husband Doug of Richwood; his brothers: Joe Glen Davis of Rio Hondo, Jeff Roy Davis & wife Betty of Pt. Lavaca and Jarvis Juan Davis of Van Vleck; and by his grandchildren: Joseph & Caitlyn Chavarria, Jennifer, Kristi, and Marissa Leverett, and Davis and Garrett Shields. He was preceded in death by his father: Roland J. Davis; his mother and step-father: Lois Mae and Jiggs Basey; his sisters: Martha Ray Davis and Janie Sue Davis; and his brothers: Joice Eugene, Johnson Lee, Johnny, and Jerry Lynn Davis.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Joseph Sayer officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers will be Donny Casey, Troy Casey, Kenny Hales, Russell Stewart, Marshall Sykes, Rick O'Neal and Marvin Leverett. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Janise, Troy Janise, Joe G. Davis II, Joe Yeamans II, John David Roe, and Steven Roe.
