Jimmie A. Foss, of Bay City Texas passed away on August 11, 2014.
Jimmie A. Foss was born in Bay City Texas on July 23, 1949 He graduated from Van Vleck High School in 1967 and continued on to attend Sam Houston State University.
Jim Foss married Jackie Foss in June of 1969; they were married 45 years.
Jim Foss was the owner of Foss Hardy and Arbuckle Insurance. Jim enjoyed everything outdoors from traveling, fishing, and especially working in the yard. He was an all-state football player for Van Vleck High School. He was the President of the Matagorda County Holding Pen/Matagorda County Fair Association Scholarship Fund. He was a former member of the Bay City Lion's Club.
Jim is survived by his wife Jackie, his daughter Chelsea and her husband Richard Ferguson, his daughter Alyson and her husband Craig Mitchell, his grandchildren Emily Bowers, Gage Ferguson, Lexi Mitchell, Olivia Mitchell, brother Ron Foss and wife Jeanette, his sister Rebecca Lowery and husband Clint and his brother Kerry Crowley.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Rudie Foss and Mary Neal Keener Crowley, his brothers Kent Crowley and Keith Crowley, his grandparents Rudolph Gustav Foss and Leah Fink Foss and Lala Causby Keener.
Jim was a devoted husband , daddy and poppy. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Wednesday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City, Texas. The funeral service will be 10:00am Thursday at the funeral home with Dr. Mike Zimmerman Church officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers are Benny Judkins, Jim Brown, John Laughlin, James Mitchell, Ron Foss and Kerry Crowley. Honorary Pallbearers are J.L. Evans and David Cartwright.
