Jessie Murl Moses Long joined the Lord on Monday, November 3, 2014. She was born November 18, 1923 in Zavalla, Texas to the late Jess and Lela Cryer Moses.
Jessie worked for 85 years of her life. She loved being around people. She was an avid gardener, doing her own yard until July 2014. She was loved by many because of her kindness and generosity. Jessie was best known for her baking. She made countless German chocolate cakes for friend's birthdays and weddings. She was always delivering her baked goods to people. She was an active member of the First Christian Church, a member of the Rebeccas serving many offices and a life member of the VFW Post 2438 Ladies Auxiliary. Jessie was always involved with her children's and grandchildren's school and sports activities.
Jessie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years Earl Long; daughter Sue Bundick; granddaughter Cathy Smith Machost; great granddaughter Brooklynn Campbell and brothers James, Floyd and Ray Moses.
Survivors include her special friend and companion Clint Burchfield and his daughter Kay Rolle; son Robert Long (Susie) of Bay City; daughters Kay Campbell (Jerry) of Zavalla, Texas and Georgeanne Smith of Canyon Lake, Texas; brother Thomas Moses of Beaumont, Texas; god daughter Cindy Tillman of Halletsville, Texas; son-in-law Harlie Bundick of Bay City; grandsons Bryan Long and Charles Clark of Houston, Texas, Paul Long of Kilgore, Texas, Mike Smith and Steve Revell (Lisa) of San Antonio, Texas and Billy Bundick, David Bundick (Allison) and Tommy Phillips (Susan) of Bay City, J.L. Campbell (Emily) of Zavalla, Texas and Joshua Campbell (Becky) of Texarkana, Arkansas; granddaughters Stephine Long of Tyler, Texas, Debbie Smith Slayton (Alton) of Magnolia, Texas, Jennifer Aaron Phillips and Susan Phillips Tafelski of Spring, Texas; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7pm Wednesday, November 5 at the funeral home. The funeral service will be 10:00am Thursday, November 6 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Quick officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers are Bryan Long, Charlie Clark, Paul Long, Billy Bundick, David Bundick, J.L. Campbell and Mike Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are David Miller, Erwin Ward, David Kennedy, Harlie Bundick, Tommy Phillips, Alton Slayton and Terry Machost.
