Jessie Hines Douglas, Jr., 84, of Bay City, died January 31, 2007. He was born in Post Oak, TX on July 29, 1922 to the late Jessie Hines and Vida Douglas. He was a resident of Bay City since 1963 and a World War II veteran of the US Army Air Force.

Jessie is survived by his wife of 62 years, Hilda L. Douglas of Bay City; his sister: Jolene Manheimer & husband Donald of Kingsville; by his sons: Jessie H. Douglas, III and wife Barbara of Pasadena, Larry Douglas and wife Sandra of Bay City; a daughter: Donna Jones and husband John Paul of Arlington; grandchildren: Julie Douglas of Houston, Jessica Douglas of Bay City, Troy Douglas and wife Amy of Medford, Mass., Jeremy Douglas and wife Jessica of Bay City, and Justin Douglas of Arlington. Also by his step-granddaughters: Keisha DePhong and husband Jason of Mesquite and Jamie Jones of Mesquite; great-grandchildren: Cameron and Cylus Douglas of Bay City and Savannah Jones of Mesquite. He was preceded in death by his parents Jessie and Vida Douglas, a sister, Lura Dean Lowry, and a grandson: Bobby Gene Douglas.

Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the Cedarvale Cemetery under the auspices of Philip H. Parker VFW Post 2438.
