Jerry Lee Holubec, 73, of Bay City passed away August 22, 2016. He was born December 27, 1942 in Beeville, TX to the late William Holubec and Mary Ann Hermis Holubec. He was a meat market manager for many years and a retiree of Matagorda County. Most recently, he was known as the 'Tomato King' for the many vegetables and homemade picante sauce he provided to the community.
He was preceded in death by an infant son Kevin Wayne Holubec and sister Elizabeth McFall. Survivors include daughters Drenda Williams & husband Clay of Bay City, Jeri Lyn Sump & husband Dale of Austin and Amanda Watson & husband Diamond of Wichita Falls; sisters Josephine Smith & husband R. H. "Smitty" of Baytown and Willie Mae Wheeler & husband Al of Pasadena; brothers Clarence Holubec of El Maton, Larry Holubec & wife Patty of New Braunfels, Gary Holubec & wife Frankie Lee of Skidmore and Gerald Holubec of Tynan; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 1PM until 3PM Friday, August 26, 2016 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Friday with Rev. Chester Sassman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be directed to the Salvation Army Food Pantry.
