Jerhald "Jerry" Whitfield, 79, of Bay City passed away Dec. 9, 2008. He was born July 1, 1929 in New Waverly, TX to the late Theo & Inez Hardy Whitfield. He served in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict and owned and operated Jerry's Flying Service, Inc. for over 15 years then flew for Fehmel Dusting Service, Inc.

Survivors include his wife Bessie Bagley Whitfield of Bay City; daughters Sherry Brown & husband Billy of Bay City Judy Follette & Glenda Parrot both of Houston; grandson Matthew Brown of Bay City and granddaughter Tina Hall of Oklahoma City, OK and many other friends and family.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Matthew Brown, Mike Burnside, W. H. Mann, Jr., William A. Townsend, Kenneth Chaplin and Charles "Hal" Fisher.
