Janie McElhenney, 57, formerly of Bay City passed away November 27,.2011 at her home in La Grange, Texas following a long battle with Diabetes. She was born December 19, 1953 in Charco, Texas to the late Manuel Montez and Inez Rodriguez Montez. Janie was a Head Start Teacher for William Smith Tri County Child Development for 16 years. Her love for children lead her to become a Foster Parent for 7 years during which she fostered 27 children.

Her parents and father & mother-in-law Sara & John McElhenney, Sr. preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of 36 years Ronnie McElhenney ; sons Sean McElhenney & Jared McElhenney; granddaughter Marilyn Paige McElhenney; sisters Teresa Chapa & husband Serbando and Lydia Montez Peralta and a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Danielle Homer, Rochelle Homer and Amber Polasek for the wonderful care they provided Janie at home the last 2 ½ years. They will hold a special place in our hearts forever.
