Janie Innocent Martinez, 61, of Bay City passed away November 15, 2015. She was born December 28, 1953 in Bay City, TX to the late Eusebio Martinez and Guadalupe Perez Martinez.
Janie was formerly the secretary at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was also a past president and devoted member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul chapter of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Bay City.
Survivors include sisters Gudelia Mendiola (Pedro) of Bay City, Mary Alvarez of Houston and Esther Martinez of Bay City; brother Stephen Martinez of Houston; nephews and niece Stephen Martinez, David Alvarez, Albert Alvarez, Pamela Martinez, Raymond Martinez, Esteban Martinez and Faustino Torres; great nieces and nephews Stephen Martinez, Dominick Martinez, Nicholas Martinez, Isabella Martinez, Stephanie Martinez, David Alvarez, Daniel Alvarez, Steven R. Martinez, Nathaniel Torres, Gabriel Torres and Leah Torres; numerous cousins, friends and special friends, Maria Landeros, Maria Guadalupe Arellano, Olivia Hidalgo, Rafaela Hurtado, and Janie Nuñez.
A rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers are Raymond Martinez, Stephen Martinez, Stephen A. Martinez, Dominick Martinez, Nicholas Martinez and Esteban Martinez. Honorary pallbearers are Rodney Trevino, George Perez, Albert Alvarez and David Alvarez.
