Our sweet angel, W. Janice Cunningham Harvey of Victoria, formerly of Palacios, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord Jesus on April 27, 2015 at the age of 84.

Born on February 15, 1931 in Palacios, TX, where she lived all but the last 3 years of her life, Janice was the youngest of four children of Bertha Wolfe Cunningham and Julius Alexander Cunningham.
Janice worked for the Palacios ISD for 15 years in the Administration Office and loved being of service to the community. She was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church all her life. She and Royce attended Grace Presbyterian Church when they moved to Victoria in April of 2012.

She was and is a dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Known for her sweet and easy smile she was liked and loved by all whose lives she touched. She loved doing things for her family and friends, especially designing and sewing useful items as gifts. She loved music, attending country opry all around the area with Royce. They enjoyed many years of traveling and camping in the beautiful parks of our great state and nation.

Preceded in death by her parents and both her brothers and sister, Janice is survived by the love of her life, husband of 67 years, Royce L. Harvey, her daughter Barbara Henry (James) of Victoria, TX, son Ralph Harvey (Janice) of Bullard, TX; Four Grandchildren: Master Sargent Frank L. Dirr, Jr. presently of Wichita Falls, TX, Amanda Schreiner (Tim) of Cameron, TX, Samuel Harvey (Andrea) of College Station, TX, Nathan Harvey (Taylor) of Fort Worth, TX. Janice has three great-grandchildren, Shelby Hope Schreiner, Caleb Royce Harvey and Victoria Grace Schreiner, also beloved sister-in-law, Gloria Dixon of Palacios, and brother-in-law Herschel Harvey (Lynn) of Boling, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her caregivers Martha Espinoza & family, and Hospice of South Texas.
Family visitation will be Thursday, April 30, from 5 to 7 pm at the Palacios Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, May 1, at 2:00 at the First Presbyterian Church of Palacios with Rev. Dan Fultz officiating. Interment will follow immediately at the Palacios Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Frank Dirr, Jr., Samuel Harvey, Nathan Harvey, Tim Schreiner, Paul Culbreth and Dan Culbreth. Honorary pallbearers are Herschel Harvey and James Henry.
