Obituary

Janice Marie Barosh 78, of Van Vleck, passed away January 2, 2022. She was born November 11, 1943 in Rockford, Illinois to the late Clarion W. Cushman and Ruth Walters Cushman.

Jan moved to Texas in 1970, where she worked various jobs before finding her niche in real estate. She worked as sales manager at Ward Real Estate, earning many sales awards and making dear friends for over twenty years. Jan served as President of Matagorda County Board of Realtors. She also served the community as a member the Lions Club

Jan and Dan loved spending time outdoors; hunting, fishing, road trips and sightseeing. They spent two years as park attendants at Canyon Lake. Later they tried their hand at gold mining a couple winters in Arizona. Many years they spent the fall season in Palacios camping and fishing. Their 'second home' was their deer lease in Nacogdoches. Many of the grandkids have fond memories of their times with Grandma and Grandpa at the deer lease.

Jan also loved gardening. Sharing the produce and canned goods with neighbors and family made her heart happy. Her rose garden was her pride and joy.

Jan is survived by her husband Dannie Barosh; daughters Rhonda Wolter and husband Scott, Dana Flower and husband Ron, and Kari Dodson and husband Randy; son Don Lane, Jr. and wife Renee; sisters Dixie Smith and husband Bob, Ann Dorner, and Sharon Youden and husband Jimmy; brothers Royal Cushman and wife Earlene and Chuck Cushman and wife Sue; grandchildren Kent Fales Jr, Donnie Fales, Teresa LeMaster, Benny Arnold Jr, Christopher Fales, Nathanael Fales, Jessica Medina, Scottie Wolter, Haley Wolter, Claudia Wolter, John Paul Lane, James Keith Lane, Bethany Lane, Megan Wrocklage, Katy Jenny, Logan Montague, Kasi Roy and Caylee Dodson; great-grandchildren Sammy Fales, Ethan Fales, Alexis Lemaster, Bryce Lemaster, Christopher M.
