James Leonard "Jim" Mangold, 78, of Seguin, Texas passed away June 8, 2025. He was born December 2, 1946 in Aberdeen, WA to the late Wendelin Joseph Mangold and Nellie Jane Stout Mangold.

Along with all of his personal accomplishments, he was most proud of his time in the United States Coast Guard. He served for 20 years and retired at the age of 39, as a CWO 4. He loved his time in service almost as much as he loved his family. We shared 58 years of marriage and raised 3 great sons, who have raised and are raising grandchildren and great-grandchildren for us to enjoy.

These last few long months came with severe challenges and he met them all with a positive outlook because he would tell you he had "grandkids to watch grow up".  As his wife, he was my rock. I'm sure there were times he wondered about some of my decisions, but his support was always there.

Everyone who met him loved and respected him. They understood his crazy nickname "Goofy".

We honored our marriage vows "Till death do us part" to the letter. He is and will be missed forever

Survivors include his wife Linda Ford Mangold; sons Thomas Joseph Mangold, Michael Victor Mangold (Sherrie) and Jason Adam Mangold (Andrea); sisters Dolores Buckingham, Joanne Wilson (Bill) and Patricia Chaplin; brother Edward Mangold (Sylvia); grandchildren Mekenzie Rosen (Jared), Ashley Mangold, Ashton Mangold, Wyatt Mangold (Courtney), Colton Mangold and Ty Mangold and great granddaughter Kaci Lynn Mangold.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, Texas. Pallbearers will be Tommy Ford, Larry Ford, Gary Ford, Lynn Fryberger, Jason Adam Mangold and Michael Victor Mangold.
