James Garcia, 67, of Bay City passed away August 20, 2011. He was born April 5, 1944 in Edna, TX to Tony Rosales & Loretta Garcia. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and retired from Union Pacific Railroad.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Lucy R. Garcia of Bay City; sons Wayne Garcia & wife Maria of Lake Jackson & Michael Molina of Bay City; daughter Shirley Bertrand of Bay City; granddaughter Carina Garcia, grandson Jason Molina; mother Loretta Merlos of El Campo; brother Simon Alcalar, Sr. & wife Paula of Hungerford; sister Jeanie Escobar of El Campo and many nieces and nephews. His father Tony Rosales, stepfather Frank Merlos, Sr. & brother Frank Merlos, Jr. all preceded him in death.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mass will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Greg Korenek officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
