James (Jim) Eldon Barrington, 82, of Lake Jackson passed away June 16, 2025.  He was born February 9,1943 in Reagan, Oklahoma to the late Richard Barrington and Marie Clifton Barrington.

Jim served in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 until 1969 including a combat deployment in Vietnam.  His remains will be interred at the Veterans Cemetery in Houston!  He worked in commercial construction all his life and was a Project manager before retiring in 2019 at the age of 76!  Jim loved fishing anyplace, anywhere but especially wade fishing in the Gulf for Black Tip shark!   But his special hobby was gardening!  One that he was very good at and could transform a yard into a masterpiece!

Survivors include his wife Gloria Huron Barrington; children Rosalyn McGrath and Michael Barrington (Jamie), stepchildren Tina Carpenter (Dale), Tracy Huron, Tammy Huron, Kimberly Lopez and Kevin Huron (Radonna); brother David Barrington (Becky); grandchildren Brandon, Kristin, Joseph, Logan, Jamie (Kirby), Jennifer ((Arther), Julie (Galen), Shelby, Cory, Cody, Austin, Alana (Wyatte), Kolton (Austin), Karma, Christian, Ian and Elise and 19 great grandchildren. Nephews John, Travis, Bruce and Sean; cousins Mitzi, Jerri, Butch, Tommy and Janice.  He was preceded in death by his sister Nova, brother Gary and two grandchildren Matthew and Chad.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel, Bay City, Tx.

A brief ceremony will be held at 2:15PM, Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at the Houston National Cemetery where Jim's remains will be interred.  Everyone is invited to attend.
