James "Jim" Edward Dannelley Sr., 52, of Van Vleck went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. He was Born August 13, 1959 in Turlock, California to Ed & Rosie Blair Dannelley.
Jim loved to hunt and race. He spent most of his time in his garage working on mud trucks and anything else he could find. If he was awake he was working on something, or looking for something to work on. He was influential in the starting of East Matagorda County Youth Boosters, and was very involved with many other county 4-H projects. Jim loved doing for others more than himself. He lived to bring smiles to others faces.
Jim is survived by his parents: Ed and Rosie Dannelley; loving wife of 33 years: Nancy Dannelley; 2 sons: James Dannelley Jr and wife Lauren of Bay City and Micheal Dannelley of Van Vleck; daughter: Siena Dannelley Bradford and husband Lane of Sweeny; grandson: James Edward Dannelley III; sister: Tammy Quinn of Pearland; and brother: Rodney Dannelley of Van Vleck. He is also survived by his In-laws: Vera and the late Curtis Sanders of Van Vleck.
Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with the family receiving visitors from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Van Vleck with Rev. Bob Hobbins officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be: Lane Bradford, Michael Dannelley, James Dannelley, Chase Kasier, Donnie Casey and Charles Budaus; Honorary pallbearers will be: Randy Roberts and George Lapp.
