Obituary

Jaime Alvarado Valladares, 80, of Bay City, Texas, passed away on June 11, 2024. Born on February 26, 1944, in Linares, Nuevo León, Mexico, he was the beloved son of the late Trinidad and Elvia Alvarado Valladares.

In 1977, Jaime migrated to Bay City, Texas with a dream to start a business and provide a better life for his family. In 1980, he opened Jaime's Bakery and quickly became a well-known and respected baker in the community. Even after he retired from the bakery, Jaime's love for baking continued in his home kitchen, where he delighted family and friends with his culinary creations.

Jaime's life was filled with simple joys and deep passions. He enjoyed the serenity of the outdoors and taking walks around his neighborhood. His creative spirit was evident in his unique crafts made from popsicle sticks, including lamps, jewelry boxes, and model trucks. A man of deep faith, Jaime was a devoted churchgoer and read his Bible daily, finding strength and solace in his spirituality. Family was the heart of Jaime's world. He found immense joy in teaching his grandchildren, Brittnee and Frankie, the art of baking and cooking, passing down cherished family recipes for his famous pink cake, donuts, and tamales, always alongside his beloved wife, Isabel. Jaime's warmth and love were evident in the happy moments shared over games of Lotería and scratch-off lottery tickets with his wife, grandchildren, and family.

Jaime was a loving husband to Isabel Santoyo Valladares, with whom he would have celebrated 57 years of marriage on July 27th. His legacy of love and devotion lives on through his children: Bertha Robbins (Travis), Ibonne Valladares, Johnny Valladares, Jaime Valladares Jr., and Francisco Valladares (Alicia). Jaime is also survived by his siblings Maria A. V. Montenegro, Belia V. Gonzalez, Romiro V. Alvarado, and Josefina V. Monrroy. He was a proud grandfather to Brittnee E. Valladares, Carmen Alicia Valladares, Brigett Robbins, Bethany Robbins, Travis Robbins Jr., Gabriel Valladares, and Frankie Valladares; and a cherished great-grandfather to Brooke Lynn Ramirez, Dorrian Washburn, Raqi Washburn, Elijah James Vargas, De'Aaron Washburn, and Kinlee Valladares. Jaime is reunited in heaven with his son Pedro Valladares and siblings Maria G. Valladares, Guadalupe V. Alvarado, and Francisco V. Alvarado.

Pallbearers honoring Jaime's memory will be Gabriel Valladares, Francisco Valladares, Jaime Valladares Jr., Charley Herbert, Joseph Wilburn, and Travis Robbins, Jr.
