Jackie Junior Holtorf, 82, of Sargent, TX passed in his home November 16, 2020. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed by the mercy of God rest in peace. Jack was born April 16, 1939 in Mantorville, MN to the late John Holtorf and Bertha (Birdie) Gunderson Holtorf.

Jack was employed as a trucker with the Teamsters Union in Minnesota for many years. He then ventured to Alaska and worked on hauling and building roads for the pipeline. He retired in 1998. He was a hard worker and very meticulous in all that he did. Jack loved to hunt and fish and traveled throughout the United States to do so. He later enjoyed teaching his grandchildren to do the same. Jack was a true "Jack of all Trades." He believed in doing everything himself, and that belief was passed on to his children and grandchildren. He spent many days with family and friends camping outdoors. He loved an adventure and while in Alaska took flying lessons. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Lorraine, Marion, Verlie and his brothers Don and Dean.

Survivors include his brothers, Richard Holtorf and wife MaryEllen, Brothers Jim Holtorf and Jerry Holtorf; sisters Lillian Goldsmith and Ladonna Holtorf and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack had three children Angela McConnell and husband Bruce of Yoakum TX, David Holtorf and wife Lori of Byron, MN, June Alper and husband Gregg of League City, TX, 10 Grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A campfire gathering of Jacks friends and neighbors will be held at his home in Sargent with his three children in early December. A memorial service for family and friends will be held in Minnesota at a later date. Jacks final resting place will be in Elgin, MN next to his parents.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.
