Jack Wesley Young III, 63 of Tres-Palacios Oaks, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2009 in Houston. He was born February 27, 1945 in Bay City to Evelyn Elizabeth Harris Young and Jack Wesley Young, Jr. Jack was a life long resident of Matagorda County, a member of the Golden Ave. Baptist Church, served in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era, and also served with the Bay City Police Department and Matagorda County Sheriffs Department.
He is survived by his wife: Louise Blackwell Young of Palacios; mother: Evelyn Elizabeth Young of Bay City; daughter: Marcy Ann Craft & husband Frank of Bay City; 2 sons: Jack Wesley Young IV & wife Kay of Holiday Lakes, TX and Barton Pierce Young & wife Lucy of Vanderbilt, TX; step daughter: Tammy Ruiz & husband Randy of Lockhart, Texas; 3 step sons: Terrell Blackwell, Jr. of Bay City. Ronnie Dwayne Blackwell of Palacios, and Keith Blackwell & wife Cynthia of Needville; brother: Clark H. Young & wife Cyndy of Bay City; 5 grandchildren: Chad Craft, Courtney Craft, Kenzi Young, Chloe Young, and Breeana Young; 13 step grandchildren; and 4 step great grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his father Jack Wesley Young Jr., and grandson Christopher Newsom.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Pastor Max Plus officiating. Interment will follow at Midfield Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Rodney Tucker III, Benjamin Moore IV, Terrell Blackwell III, Chase Blackwell, Keith Blackwell Jr., Jacob Emery Arreguin, Eric Frank Arreguin, and Luke Manuel Arreguin. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Sinclair Craft and Thomas William Mitchell.
