Jack Dillman Watkins passed away in Jackson, Mississippi on October 16, 2010, at the age of77. He was born February 17, 1933, in Bay City, Texas to Ethel Lee Watkins and Pettus V. Watkins. Jack graduated from Bay City High School, attended University of Texas and served in the U.S. Navy. He retired September 19, 2009, after serving 50 years of faithful service to Michael Baker Jr., Inc., a World Engineering and Surveying Company. Jack's duties took him all over the world. His most favorite project being the Alaskan Pipeline where he worked for many years. After several years on the Russia Pipeline Project, he returned to Jackson, Mississippi office where he served as Baker's chief surveyor and field survey coordinator. Jack's dedication to his job and Baker were inspirational. Survivors include : his brother, Quentin Watkins and wife, Doris of Bay City, Texas; two sisters; Pettus Janise and husband, Morris of Rosenberg, Texas, Betsy Hughes and husband, Randy of Cypress, Texas and brother-in-law, Robert Conklin of Houston, Texas, husband of his deceased sister Bonnie, and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 22 at Cedarvale Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Arrangements with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.
