Jack Odell Brown, 85, passed away December 9, 2017 at his home in Sugar Valley. He was born December 10, 1931 on his home place in Sugar Valley, TX to the late Walter Brown, Sr. and Reba Whiddon Brown.
He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and spent his career as oil field superintendent for George R. Brown Lease Service.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Brown; sister Margery Noster and brothers George Brown, T. T. Brown and W. A. Brown.
Survivors include his daughter Sharilyn Ross (Darron) of Bay City; grandchildren Blaine Ross (Shelby) and Jordan Ross (Shea Krauskopf) and brother-in-law Joel "Bubba" Barlow (Laura).
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6PM until 8PM Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Van Vleck with Rev. Kenny Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his nephews Robert Noster, Ronnie Noster, Jim Brown, Bob Brown, Allan Brown and Gayle Brown. Garland Kaiser will serve as honorary pallbearer.
