Obituary

Jack Morgan, 83, of Sweeny, passed away Friday, May 11, 2007 in Bay City. He was born August 16, 1923 to Jack Moses Morgan and Mary Florence Ply Morgan. He was a lifelong resident of Brazoria County and a US Army veteran of World War II. He graduated from Sam Houston University and retired from Phillips 66 as an Operator after 35 years of service.

He is survived by his daughters: Pam Ward of Smyrna, TN and Jan Alford of Van Vleck; his son: Mike Morgan and wife Barbara of Newport Richey, FL; and his sister: Mary Kingsley of Baytown. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Mike Ward & wife Kelly, Rachel Maynor & husband Roy, Morgan Ward, Ty Alford & wife Sammi, Lang Alford & wife Karen, Kay Lynn Alford, Ryan Morgan, Mandy Holmes & husband Justin and Katy Sue Morgan; and by his great grandchildren: Chelsie, Taylor and Kinsey Ward, Rebekah and Tre' Maynor, Donovon Chesson, Chassidi Jackson and Colyn and Claire Alford. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jack and Mary Morgan; his wife: Martha Morgan; a son: Pat Morgan; his brothers: W.D., Erbie, and Johnny Morgan; by a grandson: Adam Ward and great-grandson: Tyler Ward.

The family will receive visitors from 4 PM to 6 PM Sunday, May 13, 2007 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 14, 2007at the Old Town Cemetery in Brazoria, TX with Chaplain Ron Lynn of AMED Community Hospice officiating. Honorary pallbearers include Mike Ward, Ty Alford, Lang Alford, Roy Maynor, Justin Holmes, Chad Salyer, Jeremy Brown, Steven Baylor, Ryan Morgan and Rick Washington.

The family extends a special thank you to "Jingle" Wanda Walker, Mary Lou & Ron Lynn, Coty Jones and the nursing staff of AMED Community Hospice for all the loving care and kindness shown to our father and family. They will forever be remembered in our hearts.
