Jack Winston Hamilton, 90, of Bay City passed away peacefully in Victoria, TX on May 6, 2015.
He was born July 5, 1924 in Cedar Lane, TX to the late Walter Cape Hamilton and Tommy Omega Washburn Hamilton.
Jack was a loving, caring family man. He served in the Navy in WWII; was a proud 50 year member of Pipefitters Union 211 and a life member of Philip H. Parker VFW Post 2438.
He is survived by his loving wife Geneva "Neva" Hamilton; daughters Jacqueline Matura (Lester) and Carolyn Wells; son Dennis Hamilton; grandchildren Thomas Matura (Jennifer), Stephanie Reed (Robby), Elizabeth Rodgers (Matt), Sarah Hudson (Bobby) and Edward Wells; 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings Flora Clements, Harry L. Hamilton, James Edgar Hamilton, Susie Ruth "Diddy" Werlla and Walter Cape Hamilton, Jr.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 5PM until 7PM Friday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Thomas Matura, Kade Matura, Robert Reed, Jr., Robert Reed III, Edward Wells, Matt Rodgers, Shorty Thompson, Shawn Bose and Joe Ochoa. Gary Middleton, Brent Kirby, Cliff Jenkins, Todd Onchen and Larry Middleton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
