Funeral services for Isidro Castanon Perez were held January 13, 2016 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Palacios, Texas with Father Bryan Heyer officiating.

Isidro was born on May 15, 1927 in Coyote, Mexico to Francisco Castanon and Refugia Perez and he passed away January 10, 2016.

Isidro immigrated to the U.S. in 1954 and one of his proudest moments was when he became a U.S. Citizen. Isidro loved this country because he felt it was a place where if a person worked hard a person would succeed. Isidro always stressed hard work, honesty and education to his children and grandchildren, his pride and joy.

Isidro was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Concepcion Castanon and 3 children, Isidro, Fernando and Elizabeth. He is survived by 8 children, Esperanza Castanon Martin, Arthur Castanon and wife Chris, Connie Ramirez and husband Juan, David Castanon and wife Ana, Mary Rodriguez and husband Hector, Isidro Castanon and wife Angie, Jesse Castanon and wife Sandy and Frank Castanon; 28 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Steven Ramirez, John David Rodriguez, Carlos Martin, David Castanon, Nick Castanon, Arthur Castanon and Jesse Castanon.
