Irwon Marie Jensen, 88 of Palacios, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2007 in Bay City. She was born July 20, 1918 in Midway, Madison County, TX to Thomas Henry Blackwell and Minnie Wells Blackwell. She was a lifelong resident of Matagorda County and a longtime member and Sunday School Teacher at the First Baptist Church of Palacios.

She is survived by her daughters: Eddalyn Bailey & husband Charles of Blessing, TX and Janice Harvey & husband Ralph of Bullard, TX; by her son: Dennis Jensen & wife Janis of Katy; a sister: Geneva Jensen of Sugar Land; by nine grandchildren: Manette, Beckwith, Jonathan, Chad, Keri, Amanda, Elizabeth, Samuel and Nathan; by eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Jensen.

The family will receive guest from 6 PM to 8 PM Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at the Palacios Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 25, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Palacios with Rev. Dave Gruhn officiating. Interment will follow at the Hawley Cemetery in Blessing.
