Irene Ashcraft Lehmann, 89, of Bay City, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016. She was born in Matagorda County Texas on February 8, 1927 to the late John and Mary Reinke Ashcraft.

Irene worked for Marathon Oil, retiring after 30 years. She and her husband Leon traveled quite extensively. Irene took care of her daughter Sandra who suffered with diabetes, and kept a very clean, neat home. She was a true Southern Belle.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents; husband Leon Lehmann; daughter Sandra Mulligan; three brothers, Wade Ashcraft, Wyatt Ashcraft and Clyde Ashcraft and sister Grace Anderson.
She is survived by her sisters Maxine Gibson of Bay City and Mary Elizabeth McMinn of Arlington, Texas; son-in-law Patrick Mulligan and his wife Charlotte of Brenham and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00-8:00pm Saturday, December 10 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Graveside services are at 3:00pm Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Cedarvale Cemetery with Rev. Craig Ashcraft officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 2425 Fountain View Dr., Suite 280, Houston, Texas 77057.
