Irene Francis Lamorie, 71, of Palacios, Texas, passed away February 14, 2026. She was born April 26, 1954, in Westfield, Massachusetts.

Irene was the heart of her home and the steady foundation of her family. Regarded as the greatest chef, she kept her kitchen as a gathering spot, the center of love, humor, and home-cooked meals. She brought enthusiasm and light into ordinary moments with her love for dancing and singing. Creative and gifted with her hands, she could sew beautiful clothes from simple pieces of fabric, a reflection of how she created beauty in all she touched.

Her faith was important to her, and she trusted God through every season of her life. That quiet strength and belief carried her through both joys and hardships, shaping the compassionate and resilient woman so many loved.

Above all, Irene loved her family tremendously. Being a mother was her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. Her children were her heart, and her grandchildren were her absolute delight. She poured her love into them endlessly, through comforting hugs, encouraging words, shared laughter, and unwavering support.

Her love did not end here; it lives on in the lives of her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Gregory Torres; the father of her children, Richard Lamorie; daughters Melanie Tennant, Sharon Lamorie, and Lisa Lamorie-Menchaca (Eric); son Michael Lamorie; sister Sharon Kokosa; and grandchildren Madison, Meghan, Maddox, Xavier, Josiah, Melanie, Sydney, Eric, Bryce, Seth, and Rylen.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Agape Family Outreach Church, 1811 Newsome Blvd., Palacios, TX 77465. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Eric Young officiating.

Pallbearers will be Michael Lamorie, Xavier Earle, Eric Alvarez, Eric Menchaca, Bryce Menchaca, and Seth Menchaca.
