Obituary

Iola Mae Stroud Pesak Rorex, 87, of Blessing went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 7, 2013. Iola was born in Ben Wheeler, Texas on June 21, 1925 to the late Matthew and Charlotte Holloway Stroud. Iola was a great cook, who enjoyed cooking for her family. Iola spent her time crocheting and sewing, giving the finished product to her church and community. In her younger years she served her church by teaching catechism. She was a very active member of the Ladies Altar Society. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband of 16 years: Clarence Rorex of Blessing; 3 daughters: Jeroline Cerny & husband Edwin of Bay City, Emilia Fischer & husband John of Spring, and Cynthia Anderson & husband James of Edna; foster-daughter: Gayle Otto & husband Daniel of Rockport; 12 grandchildren: Sherry Reynal, Kathy Pratt, Judy Fale, Jeffrey Cerny, Melanie Bradley, John Fischer ll, Rebecca Morris, Jerome Anderson, Laura Sparkman, Michael Anderson, Brian Otto and Deborah Carmen; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Ollie Falks of Angleton and Edward Falks of Bandera; 2 sisters: Dolores Harvey of Lake Jackson and Doris Wilks of Needville; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; husband: Jerome Pesak; 2 brothers: Radie Stroud and Donald Falks; and 4 sisters: Margie Stroud, Estella Zieglar, Marie Pesak, and Gayle Orsag.

The visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 PM Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City. The Rite of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Monday, February 11, 2013 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing with Fr. Peter Yeboah-Amanfo celebrant. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeffrey Cerny, John Fischer, Jerry Anderson, Michael Anderson, Brian Otto, Billy Holloway, and Marshall Holloway.
