Ignace A. "Ikky" Drozd, Jr., 82 of Bay City, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2007 in Houston, TX. He was born November 29, 1924 in San Antonio, TX to Angeline Muzny and Ignace A. Drozd, Sr. He was a long time resident of Matagorda County and attended the Holy Cross Catholic Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Bay City. He was retired equipment operator for the Texas State Dept. of Highways and Public Transportation, a Life Member of VFW Post 2438 of Bay City and a World War-II veteran of the US Army Air Force.

He is survived by his wife: Dolores C. Drozd of Bay City; by his daughters: Susan Drozd of Victoria, Jennifer Drozd of Ganado, Karen Holub of El Campo, Gayle Labay of Louise and LuAnn Supak of Francitas; by his step-daughters: Jan Trochta & husband Michael of Bay City and Priscilla Norman & husband Robert of San Antonio; his step-sons: Steven Zernicek and wife Sarah of Bay City and Mark Zernicek of Bay City; and by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Angeline and Ignace Drozd, Sr.; by his sons: Joseph Dale Drozd and Michael David Drozd; by his sister: Dolphie Hamala; and his brothers: Ernest and Clarence Drozd.

The Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Revs. Casey Jarzombek and Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be Michael Drozd, Jr., Steven Zernicek, Mark Zernicek, Michael Trochta, Sherman Teeler, Charles Hahn, Clifford Rugeley, Weldon Popek, Fred "Butch" Brown, Gregorio Andrade and Donald Moon. Honorary pallbearers are Fred Holub and his fellow co-workers from the TX State Dept. of Highways and Public Transportation.
