Hudson Donald Pollard, 81, of Bay City passed away Tuesday August 7, 2012. Don was born May 13, 1931 in Bay City, Texas to the late Hudson Dixon and Irma Jene Pollard. He graduated from Bay City High School in 1948 and attended Texas Tech University. Don retired from Celanese Chemical Company in 1991 after 28 years of employment.

Don is survived by: his three children, Mike and his wife, La Donna, Kent and his wife Mary Claire, and Donna Hajovsky and her husband, George; one brother, D'Janin and his wife, Sue; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Weiss; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents; Loving Wife, Ann; and sister, Lena Maude Shaffer.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City. Funeral services will be at First United Methodist Church of Bay City at 10:30 AM Friday, August 10, 2012 with the Rev. Jeff Gantz officiating. Internment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Matthes, Denton Leissner, Ed Sullivan, Leon Gentry, Gayle Holton and Bill Orton. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Guys and Dolls Dance Club and his domino buddies of Blessing American Legion Hall along with George Durrett, Robert Insall, Al Blaylock, Tom Burchfield, A.C. Herreth, Dr. Fred Matthes, and Johnny Jones.
