Howard Mizell 79, of Bay City, TX passed away July 9, 2005 at his residence. He was born June 3, 1926 in Bogalusa, LA to the late Eugene and Anne Terral Mizell. Mr. Mizell was a resident of Bay City since 1996, and was a member of the First Pentecostal Church. He was a retired US Postal Carrier for Rt 1 in Vidor, TX for 25 years. He also was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Army. He served in the Pacific Theater and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Stars.
Survivors include his wife: Annie Wise DeVille Mizell of Bay City; daughter and son-in-law: Mildred and Dr. Marvin Moore of Bay City; 2 brothers: Shelton Mizell of Bogalusa, LA and Dan Mizell of Covington, LA; 1 granddaughter: Dr. Kandace Moore and 1 great granddaughter: Karissa Moore both of Bay City. He was preceded in death by his sister: Clarice Adams; and brothers: Floyd and Willie Mizell.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at the First Pentecostal Church with Dr. Marvin Moore & Rev. Greg Barnes officiating. Entombment will follow at The Good Shepard Mausoleum at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be Alfred Moya, Melvin Pennington, Charles W. "Billy" O'Mallan, Ron Almy, Paul Bickham, Leo Castillo, and Jay Brumley. The family will receive friends at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
