Howard Eugene Cartwright, 79, of Wadsworth peacefully passed away December 27, 2015 while surrounded by his family. He was born November 28, 1936 in Old Gulf, Texas to the late Greenberry Savage Cartwright and Blanche Myrtle Ingham Cartwright. He worked as a Tugboat Captain for 39 years and later enjoyed working his cattle and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by daughter Susan Elaine Cartwright, sisters Mary Toups and Juanita Bell, brothers Mac Cartwright and Homer Cartwright, and grandchildren Dakota Cartwright and Rachel Ruiz. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Patsy Ruth Armstrong Cartwright; daughters Debra Lopez and Donna Burns; son Howard "Son" Cartwright, Jr.; brothers Robbie Cartwright, Charles Cartwright and Travis Cartwright; 9 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Word of Life Church in Wadsworth with Rev. Melvin Ryman officiating.
