Obituary
Herman Gatica, Sr, 87, of Palacios passed away Dec. 10, 2009. He was born May 3, 1922 to the late Antonio & Simona Camacho Gatica. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and served his country in the US Army during WWII.
He is survived by his wife Victoria Chavez Gatica of Palacios; son Herman Gatica, Jr. of Palacios; sister Dominga Solis of Palacios; brother Leon Gatica of Palacios; grandchildren Norma Nixon, Jeffery Gatica, & Herman Gatica III; 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. His sisters Bessie Diaz & Pola Rivas and brothers Monico, Maximo, Frank & Lino Gatica all preceded him in death.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009 at the Palacios Funeral Home. Mass will be 10:00 AM Monday, Dec. 14, 2009 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Domowoh officiating. Interment will follow at the Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Herman Gatica III, Jeffery Gatica, Ramiro Arroyo, Jr., Jack Gillett, Jr., Andrew Garcia, Jr. and Gabriel Lopez.
