Herman Joseph Landry, 84, of Palacios died December 17, 2005. He was born April 27, 1921 in Abbyville, Louisiana to Anitus and Anita Ledet Landry. He was a resident of Blessing for 10 years prior to moving to Palacios, a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and a veteran of WWII.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Halon Landry in 2004. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Don and Pat Landry of Palacios; sisters Dot Nelson of Brazoria and Joyce Hargraves of Arkansas; brothers Norman Landry of Freeport and Earl Landry of Jones Creek; grandchildren Jodi Matt of Sugarland and Shane Landry of College Station; great grandson Wesley Landry of Palacios.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at the Palacios Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing with Rev. Sam Appiasi officiating. Pallbearers include Jose Savala, Norman John Landry, Greg Nelson, Paul Louviere, Chris Nelson and Danny Croft. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church or the Palacios Health Care Center.
