William Henry Hobbs, 82, of Bay City passed away July 31, 2013. He was born June 10, 1931 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Melvin Hobbs and Nell Fisher Hobbs. He proudly served in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict, retired after many years as a Petroleum Engineer and was a former member of the Bay City Chamber of Commerce.

His wife of 52 years, Peggy Hobbs, preceded him in death. Survivors include daughter Amanda Smith; son Keith Hobbs; brother Don Hobbs and wife Eileen; sister-in-law Carmen Guidry; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm Friday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Don Storey officiating. Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, TX.
