Helen Swinky, 76, of Bay City died Thursday, January 25, 2007. She was born September 16, 1930 in Mercedes, Texas to the late Lee R. Sims and Elsie Bohn Sims. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and a long time resident of Bay City.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Marilyn Murray and her husband Robert of Dickinson, and Donna Clardy of Bay City; 2 sons: Edward "Eddie" Swinky Jr. and his wife Mary of Mathis, Darryl Swinky of Bacliff, TX; Brother: Raymond Sims and his wife Louise of Edna. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Robin Martinez, Wendy Murray, Joe Clardy, and Kelly Clardy and by 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: parents; Husband: Edward Swinky; daughter: Darlene Libby, and by a granddaughter: Tammy Murray.
A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel. A mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, January 29, 2007 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Father Casey Jarzombek officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, Texas.
