Helen Jean Smith, 75, of Blessing, TX, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Warm Springs Specialty Hospital in Victoria, TX. She was born March 4, 1934 in Bieber, CA to Ardina Paul Miller and Melissa Ann Miller. She was a retired office assistant from Kelly Services at South Texas Nuclear Project.

She is survived by her daughters: Tonya L. Kelley & husband Ed of Oklahoma, and Debra A. Underwood & husband Raymond of Ohio; sons Dwayne Smith of Virginia and Harvey M. Smith of Texas; sister: Donna Caldwell of Redding, CA; grandchildren Wayne C. McAvoy & wife Tabithia of CO, Wade A. McAvoy & wife Susan of OH, April D. McKinney & husband Ricky of TX, Becky Smith & Randy Smith both of OH, Alexis Marie Smith and Megan Renae Smith both of TX, Dwight R. Underwood & wife Rachel of OH, Ardena Young of OH, and Allison Smith & Ashley Smith both of TX; and by great grandchildren: Alivia and Peirson. She was preceded in death by her husband: Dwight Wayne Smith; her parents: Ardina Paul and Melissa Ann Miller; and by her sister: Alice Ammon.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. The family will receive visitors at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City, TX from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2009. Private family services will be held at a later date.
