Harold Hunt, 87, of Palacios, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009. He was born August 31, 1922 in Kaufman County, TX to John Nenvy Hunt and Mae Hebel Hunt. He was a resident of Palacios for the past 85 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Palacios.

He is survived by his wife: Norma Hunt of Palacios; his daughters: Judy Hunt Rohde & husband Jack of Corpus Christi and Kelli Hunt of Bay City; by his son: Tommy Hunt & wife Pamela of Palacios; by his brothers: Arl Hunt and Vernon Hunt of Palacios and Carol Hunt of Louisiana; by his grandchildren: Reid Whitley, Holly Vacek, Dean Sterling, Scott Sterling, Traylor Huitt, Rachael Huitt, David Hunt, Joey Hunt, Cole Hunt and Christine Hunt; and by his great grandchildren: Whitley Vacek, Levi Vacek, Madison Sterling, Pearson Sterling, William Sterling, Jonathan Sterling, Amesti Rioux, Jayde Whitley, Tate Whitley and Teagan Whitley. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a daughter: Linda Hunt Traylor.

The family will receive visitors from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, September 28, 2009 at the Palacios Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Palacios with Rev. Zach Nicholson officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers will be David Hunt, Cole Hunt, Joey Hunt, Traylor Huitt, Reid Whitley, Dean Sterling, Levi Vacek and Glenn Vacek.
