Gwynda Coston Jones, 76, of Van Vleck, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 11, 2024.

She was born September 21, 1947 in Bay City, Texas to the late Doyle O'Hanlon Coston and Rosa Lee Reed Coston. Gwyn was a proud Van Vleck Leopard and supported many sports and events over the years. She spent most of career working in the food service industry to satisfy her love of cooking. Gwynda also drove the special needs van for VVISD which allowed her to create lifetime connections with many children.

In 1966 she married Henry E. Harvey Jr. and together they had four children, Jay, Stephen, Michelle, and Wesley. On August 5, 1982 she married Gary Ray Jones and they remained at each other's side until his death in 2014.  At an early age she devoted her life to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and raised her children in a Christian home.  Her faith in the Lord never wavered, not even in her last days on this earth.  Her faith always came first and spending quality time with her children was a very close second.

Gwyn loved family gatherings, especially those where her children would sing and entertain. She enjoyed family and friend marble board tournaments, mowing her yard, whipping up effortless meals in the kitchen, and fishing with her late husband. Nothing made her more proud than to see the successes of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Gwynda was a wonderful wife, mother, and Nanny. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Gary Jones, mother, Rosa Lee Coston, father, Doyle Coston, and sister Bonnie Coston.

Gwynda is survived by her four children, son Jay Harvey (Stephanie), of Goliad, TX, son Stephen Harvey (Tyrena) of Van Vleck, TX, daughter Michelle Harvey Furch (Kirk) of Wharton, TX and son Wesley Harvey (Nikki) of Karnes City, TX. She had 16 grandchildren with one on the way, and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two loving and devoted sisters, Doyleen Justice and Judy Calk.

Visitation will begin 1:00 pm Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Nichols Street Church of Christ. Services will begin at 2:00 pm followed by interment at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers are Brian Harvey, Jason Harvey, Wade Sigur, Andrew Carpenter, Joshua Wetz, Koehler Perez, Tristan Furch, and Dawson Corenfield. Honorary pallbearers include Thomas Calk, Pierce Furch, Chase Miskell, and Robert Zenker.
