Guadalupe Leija, 95, of Bay City died October 7, 2005 at the Matagorda House. She was born February 15, 1910 in Chile, Mexico to the late Roque and Amelia Garza Navarro. Mrs. Lieja was a resident of Bay City the past 5 years and a former longtime resident of Palacios. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include: daughter: Frances Guerra of Bay City; 2 sons: Guadalupe "Lupe" Leijha of Albuquerque, NM & Ross Leija of Summerfield, FL; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Jose Leija; daughters: Janie Cerda & Marcella Leija; son Leo Leija; and grandson: Mark Cerda.
