Gregoria R. Benavides, 89, of Bay City, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2008. She was born March 12, 1918 in Cuero, TX to Antonio Rodriguez and Ponposa Tomas Rodriguez. She was a lifelong resident of Bay City and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughters: Petra B. DeLeon & husband Lupe of Bay City and Maria B. Reyes & husband Julio of Cedar Lane; and by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Juan Hernandez Benavides; by her parents: Antonio & Ponposa Rodriguez; and by her brothers and sisters.

The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 4, 2008 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Rev. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
