Greg Meyer, a Bay City resident for 53 years, passed away at the age of 63 on Monday June 26, 2017 with his wife Kristi at his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 25, 1954 to Neil and Frances Meyer. During his high school years he met and fell in love with Kristi Huebner. They married in 1974 and would have celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary this July. Greg had a passion for life on the ranch. He was most at home in the country caring for the cows and tending to ranch business. He loved riding a horse and working cows with many of his greatest friends.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents Neil and Frances Meyer and his son Clay Meyer. He is survived by his wife Kristi Huebner Meyer; children Keith and wife Jennie Meyer; Bryan Meyer; sister Lisa Meyer Cokins and niece Lindsey Cokins; grandchildren Luke and Logan Meyer who he loved more than anything.

A visitation will be held Thursday June 29, 2017 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM. A celebration of Greg's life will be held 10:00 AM Friday, June 30 2017 at Taylor Bros Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Ely and Hoss Gwin officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: George Deshotels, Ray Culver, Jr., Daniel Tucker, Mack Mcleod, Jimmy Stewart, and Jim Davant.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe, Houston, TX 77030 or to the Matagorda County Fair Association.
