Grace Ruth Gilbert Gideon, 98, passed away July 6, 2018. She lived in Palacios for 57 years, was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and worked as the school nurse for Palacios Independent School District for over 20 years.

Grace is preceded in death by her parents Eva Amanda and John Porter Gilbert; husband Kermit S. Gideon, Sr.; brothers John and Calvin, and sisters Dorothy and Myrtle.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Kermit S. Gideon, Jr. and Ruthie, and Eileen Eikenberg and Charles; six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and her youngest sister Eva Knight.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5:00-7:00pm Wednesday July 11, 2018 at Palacios Funeral Home. Service is at 1:00pm Thurs., July 12, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church of Palacios with interment to follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Palacios.
