Grace Evelyn Cowger, 87, of Markham, TX died September 6, 2005 at Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City, TX. She was born August 12, 1918 in El Maton, TX to the late Alex Edwin & Katherin Barbara Herreth Schulte. Mrs. Cowger was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay City, a resident of Markham since 1959 and a former resident of Clemville, TX.
Survivors include: daughter: Patricia Cowger of Markham; son and daughter-in-law: James Nelson and Joyce Cowger of Markham; sister: Ola Mae Logan of Blessing, TX; 3 grandchildren: James N. Cowger II & wife Tanya of San Antonio, TX, Karen Beth Boswell of Austin, TX, and Laura Rene Gonzalez & husband Ernie of San Antonio, TX; 1 step-granddaughter: April Thompson & husband Brad of North Branch, MI; 8 great grandchildren: Katie, Alexander, & Christinane Milam, Sabrina & Miranda Gonzalez, Harry, Heather, & Hannah Cowger; 4 step-great grandchildren: Randi Mikulenka, Daniel, Geneva, & Cody Thompson. She was preceded in death by her son George Edward Cowger.
Rosary will be 7:00 PM Thursday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, and the Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Friday, September 9, 2005 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Casey Jarzombek officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, TX; Pallbearers will be James Cowger, James Cowger, Jr. Harry Cowger, Edmond Logan, Alexander Milam, and Ernie Gonzalez.
