Gumesendo R. "Gomer" Marroquin, 61, of Bay City passed away January 5, 2015. He was born September 12, 1953 in Palacios, TX to the late Jesus Marroquin and Santos Resendez Marroquin. He graduated from Palacios High School and was a proud Palacios Shark. He later attended Del Mar College. He was a machinist having worked at both Phillips Petroleum and South Texas Project.

Survivors include daughters Tara Hernandez of Blessing and Tracy Marroquin of Lake Jackson; son Gregory Marroquin & wife Amy of Lake Jackson; sisters Christina Nevarez of Palacios and Hope Oros of Bay City; brothers Felipe Marroquin, Leandro Marroquin and Lazaro Marroquin all of Palacios and Thomas Marroquin of Georgetown and grandchildren Justin Hernandez, Hannah Hernandez, Gray Marroquin and Avery Marroquin.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5pm until 7pm Thursday at the funeral home in Bay City. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday, January 9, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Bay City with Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Interment will follow at Palacios Cemetery in Palacios, Texas.
