Gloria De La Rosa, 61, formerly of Bay City passed away August 5, 2009. She was born December 30, 1947 in Refugio, TX to the late Lupe & Elvira Garcia Elizalde. She worked at a Dietary Aide in the cafeteria at Matagorda General Hospital for many years.

Her daughter Linda Zaragoza preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter Frances Zaragoza of Houston; son Hector De La Rosa & wife Jessica of Houston; sisters Eddy Mahaffey, Soila Morales, & Lydia Cantu all of Bay City & Virginia Galindo of San Angelo; brothers Henry Elizalde & Lupe Elizalde, Jr. both of Coolridge, AZ, Ray Elizalde of Austin & Ernesto Elizalde of Bay City; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Mass will be 10:00 AM Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Joey Zaragoza, Michael De La Rosa, Rene Flores, Abel Morales, Jesse Perez and Joe Perez will serve as pallbearers.
