Gloria Jean Hunter

Born Dec. 6, 1960, in Port Lavaca, TX. Known by all her friends as Jeanie, she passed Dec. 27th, 2015. Jeanie attended school and lived in Palacios, TX.

Family, FFA, and livestock shows were among her favorite memories that she laughed about often. She was known by all for her generous nature and work with various activities for the community. Those who knew her and called her a friend, could attest to her quirky sense of humor and giving nature. She will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her husband: Michael Hunter of Palacios, TX; five children: Amanda Manning, Kellie Hunter, Bradford Woodward, Lauren Hunter, and Lisa Hunter; two grandchildren: Justice Moreno and Kailey Moreno; two sisters: Pattie Verdecanna and Susan Jessup; and Brother: Bobbie Barker. Jeanie was preceded in death by brother: Donnie Barker; great nephew: Justin Normand; and parents: Howard & Sue Barker.

The family will receive visitors from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 30th, 2015 at the Palacios Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 31st, 2015 at the Palacios Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers are Philip Manning, Joel Rodriguez, Daniel Jessup, Daryl Hunter, Larry Glenn, Justice Moreno, Keith Jessup, Shawn Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Seaman with Bill Miller. After the services, attendees are welcome to join us at the Weimer Hall at the First United Methodist Church of Palacios.
