Glenda Matura formerly of Bay City, TX passed away peacefully at her Alvin, TX residence on July 22, 2010. She was born Glenda Kay Smith on August 31, 1948 to Emmit J. and Almer Floyd Smith of Bay City, TX where she resided for 50 + years before moving to Alvin, TX. She was a loving and caring Mother and Grandmother who touched the lives of everyone she met with her beautiful smile. She is survived by son Tommy Matura and wife Jan of Pearland, TX. 2 daughters, Leanne Abercrombie and husband Roger of Bay City, TX and Kaylene Rodriguez and husband Jeremy of Kronenwetter, Wi; 4 grandchildren, Andrew Matura, Triston Rodriguez, Ryan Abercrombie and Casidy Rodriguez; 2 brothers, Harold and Horace Ray Smith and 2 sisters, Helen Lewis and Nadine Bowman. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Doris Faye Smith. Pallbearers are Vernon Denn, Danny Denn, Jamie Lewis, Jason Lewis, Bobby Smith, Donald Gene Smith, Thomas Matura and Gary Carter. Visitation will be on Monday July, 26 from 5-7pm at Bay City Baptist Church and funeral service will be Tuesday, July 27 at 10 am at Bay City Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
