Gertrude Veronica Tallas, 87, of Van Vleck passed away Nov. 5, 2008. She was born February 4, 1921 in East Bernard, TX to the late August & Sophie Tymel Fojtik.

Her husband of 60 years Edward Tallas preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 2008. Survivors include daughters & their spouses Shirley & Bob Kilpatrick of Bryan, TX and Carol & David Branton of Van Vleck; sisters Della Biezenski of Van Vleck & Evelyn Schmalriede of Houston; brother Victor Fojtik of Humble; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6pm to 8pm Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 at St. Peter Lutheran Church with Rev. Jared Stillions officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
