Geraldine Marie Liscum Howard was born on Tuesday June 8, 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa to parents Ann Liscum and LaDon Liscum.  Geraldine entered into the kingdom of Heaven at the age of 86 on November 11, 2023 at 3:20am.  In her final days, she was surrounded by people who loved and adored her including family members as well as her medical staff at The Springs.

She was one of four children. Geraldine was predeceased by her two brothers Van Liscum, and Don Liscum, and is survived by her sister Rebecca Rossen. Geraldine was a loving wife to her husband Kenneth Dale Howard who she will now get to be reunited with in the presence of Jesus. She was a loving mother to her four children, predeceased by sons Steve Howard, and Randall Howard; and survived by son Thomas Howard, and daughter Teresa Howard Carter.  All of her grandbabies, as she would call them, knew her as Nanny.  Geraldine was a loving grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by seven grandchildren: Elizabeth Carter, Michelle Carter, Sean Carter, Amanda Harborth, Kenneth Howard, Amber Howard, and Angela Sparks. Geraldine was predeceased by one grandchild Angel Howard. She is survived by ten great grandchildren: Taylor Jet Perchalski, Ashton Harborth, Kendall Harborth, Grace Harborth, Donnovan Howard, Daisy Sparks, Tray Sparks, Duke Howard Sparks, Aiden Howard, and Hiram Howard.

Geraldine was all about family. Her family was always her biggest passion. She had a love for girl scouts, not only was she a girl scout herself, traveling to Europe for three months with her troop, she was also, a girl scout leader for her daughter's girl scout troop, and was the first girl scout leader to allow multi-racial troops to her group in Mexia Texas. Geraldine loved people well. She loved the Lord and wanted others to know him. Geraldine grew up in the Lutheran church with her family, and later in life became a member of the local Baptist Church. She was a member of First Baptist Palacios during her years living in the City by the Sea. She was a big fan of family reunions, taking road trips in the family RV, playing games with her children and grandbabies and boy did she have a great love for her poodles. She loved well. She served God and others well, and she will be greatly missed. Today We celebrate a life well lived and commit to carrying on her legacy.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Palacios Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM with James Collins officiating.  Interment will follow at the Midfield Cemetery.
